Canon RF 70-135mm F2L USM lens is coming! According to the latest rumors from CR1, Canon is now actively testing Canon RF 70-135mm f/2L USM lens with a very small group of photographers and videographers. It is rumored to be announced in Q4 of 2020.
Since both the Canon EOS R5 (B&H/ Adorama) and EOS R6 have in-body image stabilization, it makes sense to exclude IS from Canon RF 70-135mm F2L lens, and this may reduce the size and weight.
Last year, Canon already released the standard Canon RF 28-70mm F2L USM lens (Amazon/ B&H/ Adorama), so it would not be surprising if an F2-through telephoto or wide-angle zoom lens will be announced.
We think, since Canon RF 70-135mm F2 lens doesn’t have image stabilization, it may be not so popular.
