I am honestly so fed up with my current setup. I thought the standard kit lens would be enough for my big trip to Zion National Park in two weeks but every time I try to frame a landscape it feels like I am looking through a straw. It is driving me absolutely nuts. I spent a fortune on the R6 body and now I feel trapped with these narrow shots that just dont capture the scale of anything. Plus the cheap EF adapter I bought is constantly glitching out and losing connection which is just the worst thing when you are trying to catch the sunset.
I am actually really excited though because I finally saved up about 450 bucks, maybe 500 if I really stretch it, to finally get a proper wide lens. I just want that dramatic ultra-wide look without the headache of adapters or soft edges. I am mostly shooting for my personal travel blog so it doesnt need to be top-tier pro glass but it has to be reliable.
What is the best budget wide-angle for the RF mount that actually performs? Should I just grab that 16mm prime or is there a better zoom option for a hobbyist like me? I am seriously ready to just move on from this kit lens mess...
> Should I just grab that 16mm prime Tbh I had issues with that 16mm being way too distorted, unfortunately. Grab the Canon RF 15-30mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM instead, it fits your budget and feels way more reliable.
