Im honestly so fed up with my kit lens on the R6 Mark II, it just feels cheap and the low light is garbage. So I was thinking about the 24-105mm but my logic was I need more range for my kids soccer games in Austin. Just need one versatile zoom under $2000 that wont make me crazy...

> Im honestly so fed up with my kit lens on the R6 Mark II, it just feels cheap and the low light is garbage. So I was thinking about the 24-105mm but my logic was I need more range for my kids soccer games in Austin. I totally get the frustration with kit lenses! They feel like toys! Honestly, I went through the exact same thing when I started shooting my kids sports. If you want one lens that does it all and wont break on you, you really have two amazing paths to take. First is the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM. This thing is a tank! I love it because f/4 is constant throughout the zoom, which helps so much with those low light issues. It is way sharper than the kit lens. But honestly, for soccer in Austin? You might find it a bit short if you are stuck on the sidelines. If you really want to nail those action shots across the field, you have to look at the Canon RF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM. It is so tiny and light but the build quality is fantastic! It is incredibly reliable. I use mine all the time for outdoor sports and the autofocus is blazing fast. It keeps up with runners perfectly and the image stabilization is just amazing. Personally, I would go with the 70-200mm f/4L. It fits your budget easily and feels like a real professional tool. It completely solves the cheap feeling problem you mentioned. If you need wide shots too, just keep the kit lens in your bag for those rare moments, but the 70-200 is gonna be your workhorse for the soccer games! Youll love the results!
