Are there actually any decent Black Friday deals coming up for Canon mirrorless cameras or is it all just hype again?
Im honestly so fed up with my old Sony a6000 it keeps overheating during my kids soccer games and the autofocus is just missing everything lately. Ive been waiting for months to switch to Canon but the prices for the R6 Mark II are just staying so high and Im starting to get really anxious that Ill miss the holiday window. I want to spend maybe $2000 total for a body and a lens and I live in Chicago so Ive been checking local spots but nothing. I really need a reliable setup before our family trip in December...
Just saw this thread. > Ive been waiting for months to switch to Canon but the prices for the R6 Mark II are just staying so high In my experience, the big retailers like B&H usually hold out until the week of Black Friday before dropping the real coupons. I've tried many setups over the years, and for your $2k budget, sticking strictly to the R6 II is gonna be tight once you add glass. Honestly, you should look into the Canon EOS R7 Mirrorless Camera. I used it for a sports gig last year and the autofocus tracking is incredible for fast movement. Plus, the 1.6x crop factor is basically a cheat code for soccer games because it makes your lenses reach further. Check out a site called Canon Price Watch... they track street prices and often have better deals than the big box stores. Grab that with a Canon RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM and you'll never miss a goal again. It wont overheat like that Sony either.
Ngl the hype is actually real if you watch the Canon Refurbished site. Im super satisfied with my Canon EOS R8 Mirrorless Body, it works well for fast action and has the R6 II sensor. For your $2k budget, you could grab that plus a Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM and still have money left for your trip. Those R8 autofocus speeds are totally gonna blow that old a6000 away.
