So I finally pulled the trigger on the X-H2 and honestly the 40 megapixels is kinda blowing my mind but now I feel like my old lenses just aren't keeping up. I spent like three hours last night reading reviews and everyone keeps pointing to the 56mm f1.2 R WR or that beast of a 50mm f1.0. I read that the new 56mm is super sharp but some people on Reddit were complaining about the autofocus being a bit pokey compared to the linear motor lenses. Then there is the 90mm f2 which looks amazing but I'm worried it might be too long for the indoor shots I need to do.
I've got a wedding for my sister coming up in October out here in Seattle (lots of gray light and probably some rain lol) so I need something that can handle the low light but also won't die if it gets a few drops on it. Mostly gonna be doing actor headshots after that.
Heres what Im looking for:
- Budget is $800 to $1200 max
- Must be sharp enough for the high res sensor
- Fast enough AF to catch people moving around
- Not so heavy that I need a gym membership just to hold it for an hour
Is the 56mm WR really the way to go or should I look at something like the Viltrox 75mm 1.2 instead? Ive heard mixed things about third party glass on the new bodies...
Honestly, I'm super happy with the Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 AF Pro Fuji X Mount. Its a budget beast that handles the Seattle drizzle just fine.
- Half the price of Fuji
- Crazy sharp
