I just upgraded to the X-T5 from my old X-T20 and honestly Im kind of hitting a wall here. I thought my old 18-55 kit lens would be fine but man the 40 megapixel sensor is just brutal. Every shot looks soft if Im not stopped down like crazy and even then the edges are just mushy. Im heading to London in like three weeks for a big family trip and I really need one solid lens that can do it all because I dont want to be swapping primes while my kids are running around. Ive been looking at the 16-55 f2.8 but its such a brick and Im worried about the weight for a whole day of walking around. Then theres the 16-80 but Ive heard mixed things about it actually handling the high res sensor. My budget is around 900 to 1100 bucks and Im just getting so frustrated reading conflicting reviews online. One person says the older glass is fine and the next says its garbage on the T5 because of the resolving power issues. I just need something sharp that stays on the camera 90% of the time and wont let me down. What is the actual best all-around lens for the Fujifilm X-T5 that actually resolves that 40MP sensor properly?
