So I've been staring at my A7IV for like two hours trying to decide what to bring on my trip to Kyoto next month. I really dont want to be that guy swapping lenses every five minutes while my wife waits for me lol. I need just one solid all-arounder that stays on the body 90% of the time. I've got a budget of maybe $1100 max so I'm looking at the used market mostly to keep costs down.

My logic was to go with the Sony 24-105mm f/4 G because that extra reach at the end seems super useful for catching details on temples and stuff, but then I started looking at the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 G2. The Tamron is lighter and that f2.8 would be killer for night markets and indoor shots. But then there is the Sigma 24-70mm Art which everyone says is the sharpest, but honestly it looks kinda heavy for walking 20k steps a day and my neck already hurts thinking about it.

I'm torn between the extra zoom of the Sony or the faster aperture of the Tamron. Is the f/4 really that limiting if I'm doing a lot of evening street photography? Or is 28mm just not wide enough for those tight alleyways? Just trying to figure out which one is the true desert island lens for a Sony setup...
